PROGRAMME DIRECTOR – CAP AIDS Uganda | Naomi Ayot
Naomi Ayot is the Program Director for CAP AIDS Uganda, CAP AIDS' regional office for Africa . Born and raised in Northern Uganda, Naomi holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Uganda's Makerere University . Naomi manages the day-to-day operations of the CAP AIDS Uganda office, based in Kampala, Uganda . She monitors projects, prepares reports, assists with bicycle distribution, and helps our partners connect with local resources.
Noami has been trained in HIV+AIDS and Consequential Life Skills and has taught at Wisdom College School for orphans in Uganda . She has volunteered for various charitable organizations.
"I'm from Northern Uganda , a region severely affected by civil war. Women and girls in the region are constantly subjected to violence, such as rape, with many contracting HIV+AIDS as a result. My main interest is to bring hope to all those affected but especially make a difference in the fight against HIV+AIDS in Uganda's rural communities."
Naomi will be in Canada for one month in February.
EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR - CAP AIDS| Claire Holloway Wadhwani
CAP AIDS is pleased to welcome Claire Holloway Wadhwani on board as our new Executive Director. Claire assumed the position as of November 1, 2010. Claire is based in the Toronto office.
Claire brings seven years' experience in the non-profit sector, specializing in fundraising and public engagement.† She has spent†time in Africa and India meeting with grassroots† community-based organizations and working to raise their profile and generate resources to support their work. She holds a Masters of Arts degree from the University of Toronto, and a B.A. from Queen's University specializing in International Development and† History.
Claire also currently serves as President of the Board of Directors of the Ontario Council for International Cooperation, a network representing more than 40 NGO members across the province.†
